St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, a part of Marriott Bonvoy, has announced the opening of the St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort in Tamuda Bay, Morocco.
The resort has been developed by Abu Dhabi-based private investment and real estate development company Eagle Hills and designed by Smallwood, a design company.
Located on the Mediterranean coast, this property marks the St. Regis brand’s debut in the country.
Marriott International vice-president of luxury brands for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Helen Leighton said: “The debut of the St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay marks a significant milestone for the St. Regis brand as we grow our footprint on the African continent and celebrate our first property in Morocco.
“We are proud to open our doors in the captivating Tamuda Bay, known for its natural beauty, pristine golden beaches and rich history. Set to become the most iconic address in Morocco, the St. Regis La Bahia Blanca, Tamuda Bay will showcase a new level of luxury hospitality.”
The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay, designed as a private riad with courtyards and gardens, pays homage to the Andalucian cultural heritage of the region.
It has an art collection by local artists displayed throughout the property.
The resort boasts 83 guestrooms and 17 suites, starting at 32m², each with a private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It also has a 1,800ft² Presidential Suite.
It provides guests with the brand’s signature St. Regis Butler Service, which includes personalised services such as garment pressing as well as packing services.
Dining options at the resort include Baie Blanche Brasserie, Bahia Vista Beach Bar & Grill, St. Regis Bar, Library and Grand Hall Garden.
Baie Blanche Brasserie is a French brasserie with a Moroccan influence that serves a seafood menu and provides a range of indoor and outdoor seating options.
Bahia Vista Beach Bar & Grill is a beachside grill serving fresh seafood along with a variety of sushi options, while the Library offers a quiet spot for enjoying St. Regis afternoon tea.
Guests can enjoy classic cocktails and a Moroccan-inspired twist on the St. Regis Bloody Mary at St. Regis Bar.
The resort also hosts a nightly champagne-sabering ritual in the Grand Hall Garden at sunset to mark the transition from day to night.
Additionally, it offers 5,00ft² of event space and a riad-inspired private patio for events ranging from weddings to meetings.
The resort’s Astor Ballroom features an exterior garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and can accommodate up to 280 guests.
Among other amenities provided at the property are an exercise room, a swimming pool and the St. Regis Spa, which has five treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite.
Guests at the property can also visit nearby locations such as Tetouan and the Rif mountains, as well as Hercules Caves.
