Leisure hospitality brand Sterling Holiday Resorts has unveiled Sterling Athirappilly, a new upscale retreat in Kerala, India, marking the company's eighth property in the state.

The resort is located on the banks of the Chalakudy River, within 1km of the Athirappilly waterfalls.

Sterling Athirappilly comprises a 1,000ft² conference room, well-equipped rooms and open-plan studio-style suites, each providing views of the river and the lush Western Ghats.

It also includes the Indulge Suite, which features a jacuzzi, and a two-bedroom Presidential Suite with a waterfall-view balcony.

The resort has a gourmet restaurant and a rooftop infinity pool, which offers panoramic views of the waterfalls and surrounding greenery.

Furthermore, guests can unwind at The Hornbill, a library lounge with a collection of literature on the local ecosystem.

Sterling Holiday Resorts CEO and managing director Vikram Lalvani said: “Sterling Athirappilly marks a milestone for Sterling in our promise to deliver enhanced stay experiences for our guests, and also strengthen our portfolio across Kerala. We can provide guests with the entire gamut of holiday experiences in Kerala.”

The new property also provides nature treks and bird-watching trails.

Cyriac Ventures owner Cyriac Joseph said: "I am delighted as we embark on this exhilarating journey with Sterling. 'Sterling Athirappilly: A Cyriac Venture' stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to innovation and excellence.”

Last year, ET Hospitality World reported that Sterling Holiday Resorts plans to set up its new resort in Kerala, on a 4.5-acre plot in Vythiri village.
