Swiss-Belhotel International has bolstered its presence in the capital of Kenya with the signing of its second property in Nairobi.

This announcement comes within a month after the signing of Swiss-Belhotel’s first hotel in Nairobi, according to a company release posted on MediaOutReach.

The Nairobi Safari Club is set to be rebranded as Nairobi Safari Club by Swiss-Belhotel, with the complete transition and takeover scheduled for 1 March 2024.

This four-star hotel is owned by Mukawa (Hotels) Holdings.

Mukawa (Hotels) Holdings directors Clare Njeri Githunguri and Lilian Joy Nyagaki Githunguri said: "Joining forces with Swiss-Belhotel International is not just a business decision, but a commitment to elevating the Nairobi Safari Club experience and setting new hospitality benchmarks.

“The fusion of our legacy with Swiss-Belhotel International's global expertise will craft a distinctive hospitality experience for travellers in Nairobi."

The initial phase will focus on integrating Swiss-Belhotel International's standards and minimal branding, followed by further improvements to the property's offerings.

Nairobi Safari Club, established in 1984, is claimed to be the only all-suite hotel in Nairobi.

Located in the centre of the city, the property features 146 rooms, ranging from studios and panorama rooms to presidential and executive suites.

It offers dining options featuring global cuisine, while the property’s bar provides an intimate setting.

The property hosts both social and corporate events at its grand ballroom, which has the capacity to accommodate up to 800 guests.

Additionally, it offers meeting and conference rooms catering to different group sizes.

Swiss-Belhotel International senior vice-president of operations and development for EMEA and India and senior vice-president of group human resources and talent development Laurent A Voivenel said: “This is a significant milestone for us. With an eye on the changing market dynamics, we are strategically building our portfolio to inspire more guests to experience our brands and hotels.

“Nairobi Safari Club's iconic status combined with Swiss-Belhotel's operational excellence will undoubtedly create a unique hospitality offering in the heart of Nairobi.”
