TATA Group is set to develop two new Taj-branded luxury resorts in the Lakshadweep archipelago in India, reported BNNBreaking.com.

Set to open in 2026, the resorts will focus on sustainable tourism.

One of these resorts, Taj Suheli, will feature 110 rooms, including 60 beach villas and 50 water villas.

The other, Taj Kadmat, will comprise 110 rooms, with 75 beach villas and 35 water villas.

These properties are part of a larger developmental scheme in the Lakshadweep union territory, which comprises improvements in connectivity and infrastructure.

They will incorporate green elements to ensure minimal environmental impact.

This commitment aligns with the Taj brand's dedication to eco-tourism and the preservation of Lakshadweep's natural beauty and ecological balance.

The project is also expected to generate several employment prospects and foster skill development among local residents.

Last November, Taj Hotels faced a data breach, potentially exposing the personal details of around 1.5 million guests, including mobile numbers, addresses, and membership IDs.

The perpetrator, who goes by the name 'Dnacookies,' demanded $5,000 for the complete dataset.

Meanwhile, last month, Taj parent IHCL opened a new Vivanta-branded hotel in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India.

The hotel features 80 rooms and suites.

IHCL includes a diverse portfolio comprising brands such as Ginger, Vivanta, SeleQtions, Qmin, and more.
