The Caves Hotel in Jamaica’s Negril listed for sale 

The property is reported to be the second Jamaican hotel, owned by music producer Chris Blackwell, to be put up for sale.

The Caves Hotel, a 12-key property in Negril, Jamaica, has been listed for sale with a price tag of $18.9m (J$2.9bn). 

This property, owned by music producer and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, is the second hotel in Jamaica to be put up on the market by Blackwell in less than two months, reported Writeups24.com

The first property to be put for sale is the Strawberry Hill Hotel for $16.8m. It offers 13 cottages alongside dining options, a spa with five treatment rooms, event venues, and more. 

The Caves Hotel has been listed by Leslie Cooper, Alex Miranda, and Compass Florida US Marketing Partners Ivan Hernandez.  

Located at One Love Drive, the hotel sits on the limestone cliffs of Negril’s West End and known for being a celebrity destination in the country. 

The hotel has 12 custom-designed cliffside cottages, including options such as the Garden View Cottage and Partial Ocean View Cottage, among others. 

Its in-room amenities include free Wi-fi, outdoor showers, air conditioning, mini bars, mini kitchenette and more.  

The main dining area, known as Bamboo Terrace, features a 24-hour bar that serves drinks and homemade treats. 

The Caves Hotel also includes The Gazebo, which serves Jamaican breakfast, smoothies and more, and the Blackwell Rum Bar that serves a list of cocktails and The Sands bar. 

In addition, it offers private dining options.  

Among the other amenities provided at the property include a spa, jacuzzi, sauna, private hot tub, and a saltwater swimming pool. 

The hotel further offers water sports and on-site activities such as snorkelling. 

The Caves is situated in the parish of Westmoreland, approximately 80 minutes from Montego Bay on the north coast of Jamaica. 

US Destination Tourism Market Overview

In 2023, international arrivals to the country reached 76.1 million, which is still lower than the pre-pandemic level seen in 2019. The numbers are however expected to surpass the pre-pandemic levels in 2024. In 2023, majority of the inbound travelers visited US for leisure purposes, with 58.7% of overall international arrivals being for this purpose. Singles, however, accounted for the largest share of inbound travelers in 2023 as this country is increasingly becoming one of the sought after solo travel destinations.
