Vail Resorts has announced the launch of a new technology, My Epic Assistant, within the My Epic app designed to provide guests with instant access to resort information.

Powered by AI and resort experts, My Epic Assistant is part of the company's commitment to ensuring a welcoming experience for all visitors.

It aims to offer skiers and riders a convenient platform to ask questions and receive reliable answers, enhancing their overall experience.

Guests can interact with the assistant 24/7 for information on various topics, including mountain conditions, resort activities, and dining options.

For those seeking a more personal touch, the option to connect with a live resort expert via chat or phone is also available.

In addition, the new technology allows guests to inquire about topics such as resort and on-mountain activities, ski-and-ride school and rental support, mountain conditions, and dining and parking options.

My Epic Assistant is available for the 2024/25 winter season (December to February), initially supporting four Colorado resorts – Beaver Creek, Vail Mountain, Breckenridge, and Keystone.

Vail Resorts is also planning to expand this technology to additional resorts in the future seasons.

Vail Resorts chief information officer Chris Smith said: “With the recent advancements in AI, we see an opportunity to provide real-time guest service so skiers and riders can navigate their day at our mountain resorts with confidence, efficiency and ease.”

The introduction of My Epic Assistant follows Vail Resorts’ recent launch of Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Tickets, which allows guests to purchase their passes online, activate them on their smartphones, and access the lifts hands-free using Bluetooth.

Both Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift help in streamlining the guest experience and contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing plastic and RFID chip waste.

The My Epic app, now enhanced with My Epic Assistant, already offers features such as lift line wait times, interactive trail maps, and real-time mountain conditions.

Vail Resorts plans to further develop the assistant's capabilities in the future, including proactive, personalised recommendations and always-on booking support, tailored to each guest's preferences and itinerary.
