Vietnamese hospitality technology firm VinHMS has marked its fifth anniversary with a celebratory dinner centred around the theme: "Operations. Transformed."
The event emphasised the company's commitment to continuous innovation and its role in the hospitality sector.
Responding to challenges: achievement during COVID-19
At the height of the pandemic in Vietnam, the software company demonstrated resilience by deploying hotel solutions across 35 hotels in 15 cities in collaboration with Melia Hotels International (MHI) and other partners.
Managing 14,000 rooms over 98 days, VinHMS emerged as a leader in the hospitality tech sector. It became the first Vietnamese hospitality tech company to join Hospitality Technology Next Generation [a global non-profit trade association] and has integrated seamlessly with Google Hotels.
Endorsement from MHI
Viet Dang, IT director at MHI, praised VinHMS for integrating 13 hotels with MHI's central reservation system within a year.
"We have integrated 13 hotels with MHI's central reservation system in less than a year, and it offered a smooth transition and started to deliver business performance in a very short period. [The] MHI ecosystem has a wide variety of applications and functionalities, and we have not faced any challenges in integrating them with CiHMS [VinHMS's cloud-native comprehensive management solution]."
Elevating hospitality technology
Specialising in high-quality technology products, VinHMS offers a suite of solutions including its flagship CiHMS, asset management (CiAMS), theme park management (CiTMS) and a digital transformation solution for small hotels (CiTravel).
According to Hoang Nguyen, CEO of VinHMS, the aim is to provide an open platform that encourages innovation and seamless integration with technology providers.
"We want to provide an open platform that acts as a foundation for hotels to do innovations. All standard hotel operation tools are there, but the most important thing about our platform is that we can easily connect and integrate with many technology providers to improve cost, increase revenue and enhance hotel customer experiences."
Strategic plans for growth
After achieving success in Vietnam, VinHMS is poised for international expansion, targeting the Southeast Asian market. The company's strategic plan revolves around two core principles: openness and adherence to international standards.
VinHMS plans to deploy CiHMS in four Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia.
An open platform approach allows CiHMS to adapt to local markets, integrating with regional partners such as the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, ABA Bank in Cambodia and Oracle Partner Network in Thailand.
