Virgin Hotels opens new hotel in Glasgow

The Virgin Hotels Glasgow comprises 240 chambers spread out across 15 floors.

Virgin Group’s lifestyle hotel brand Virgin Hotels has launched its second hotel in the UK.

Situated on the banks of River Clyde in Glasgow, the Virgin Hotels Glasgow comprises 240 chambers spanning 15 floors.

These chambers comprises two rooms, the dressing room and the lounge.

The dressing room combines the hallway, and a luxurious dressing area, while the lounge features patented designed bed.

Virgin Hotels Collection CEO James Bermingham said: “At Virgin Hotels, we are driven by our passion for delivering innovative design and heartfelt service, and our latest opening is no exception.

“Every detail has been curated to reflect the dynamic and diverse essence of Glasgow, and we hope the property will not only be a home away from home, but a door to the incredible experiences within this exciting city.”

The property also includes various dining and drinking venues including Commons Club, which is Virgin Hotels’ flagship restaurant and bar.

Furthermore, the company has introduced its all-day dining and entertainment venue Highyard on the mezzanine level of the Commons Club.

In a statement, he company said: “Offering breath-taking views of the river Clyde, Highyard is destined to become the new go-to spot for Glasgow’s buzzing social scene for basking in the sun while enjoying brunch, or sipping on a cocktail under a starlit sky.”

The company's creative director vice-president Teddy Mayer worked closely with property developer Silk Property Group to incorporate Glasgow's historical connections to the shipbuilding sector into the hotel's design.
