Multinational technology communications leader Vodafone Business has demonstrated hotel technology solutions including generative AI [artificial intelligence], REM Data (a solution to enable real-time monitoring and analysis of physical spaces within hotels) and cloud-based software for operational efficiency.

In collaboration with tech partners Eviden, Fractalia and EcoMT, Vodafone Business showcased the technologies at the innovation and tourism technology forum FiturTechY 2024 in the Spanish city of Madrid, an annual five-day event organised by the city's Institución Ferial.

Leading Vodafone Business’s hotel technology portfolio is its virtual assistant powered by generative AI and developed in partnership with Eviden.

Acting as a virtual receptionist, the technology aims to enhance guest interactions by providing tailored information about the hotel and local attractions in multiple languages. The receptionist can understand guest intentions, make reservations and book tickets.

With its natural language processing capabilities, the assistant streamlines guest experiences and reduces wait times.

Teaming up with Fractalia, Vodafone Business introduced REM Data, a technology that allows hotel management teams to track visitor traffic, monitor capacity levels and optimise operations in high-traffic areas such as restaurants and pools.

By providing actionable insights, REM Data helps hoteliers make informed decisions that enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Finally, in collaboration with EcoMT, Vodafone Business unveiled TechYRoom, a cloud-based software solution designed to streamline routine tasks for hotel staff while improving energy efficiency.

Leveraging voice control, generative AI and IoT [internet of things] automation technologies, TechYRoom enables employees to perform everyday duties using voice commands.

Guests can also adjust their comfort levels during their stay, contributing to energy conservation efforts and enhancing sustainability initiatives.

A Vodafone Business representative at FiturTechY commented: “These technology solutions mark a significant milestone in the evolution of the hotel industry.”
