Hong Kong-based hospitality group Wharf Hotels has unveiled a rebranding initiative for its Marco Polo Hotels.

The group's properties are situated in cities across Asia, including Beijing, Hong Kong, Jinjiang, Wuhan and Xiamen.

The rebranding incorporates a series of new pillars - Enrich, Connect, and Responsible, which is expected to introduce a new visual identity for Marco Polo Hotels, featuring a Viva Magenta brand colour to reflect the brand's personality.

The group intends to introduce SAVVY, an Italian-inspired restaurant offering shared plates and local specialities.

It further plans to offer dining guests experiences involving collaborations, special events, and themed activities across its food and beverage venues.

Guestrooms and suites will also see upgrades and the inclusion of amenities such as the Continental Club.

The new visual identity and colour scheme will be gradually implemented across consumer marketing materials and hotel collateral throughout this year and into 2025.

This refreshed look marks the beginning of a wider enhancement plan, with Prince Hotel in Hong Kong and Marco Polo Wuhan being the first properties to undergo the rebranding.

The group plans to progressively introduce changes at its other properties in the coming years, which will include interior investments and improved guest experiences.

Wharf Hotels president Thomas Salg said: “We revisited our brand to ensure the rebranding and enhancements will better reflect the ethos of our namesake and address the increase of bleisure [business leisure] travel in Asia Pacific.

“Today’s and tomorrow’s guests are looking for more than just a place to stay; they want inspiring experiences in the form of sights, sounds and tastes – both inside our hotels and out.  What we set out to accomplish definitely showcases our commitment to creating a holistic guest experience and lasting value for our stakeholders.”

Last year, Wharf Hotels expanded its portfolio with the launch of Maqo Changsha, the first hotel under its premium lifestyle brand Maqo, in Changsha, China.
