The City of Lincoln Council in the UK has received approval for the expansion of the White Hart Hotel.
This significant development will introduce a swimming pool complex, additional rooms, and new retail and dining spaces.
The hotel's expansion plans were unanimously approved by the planning committee on 10 July, reported BBC.
A key feature of the project is the construction of a swimming pool, spa, and gym within the existing hotel structure, located on Bailgate.
The Grade II listed building's exterior will remain unchanged while internal modifications will accommodate a 36ft swimming pool.
During the planning committee meeting, the discussion encompassed not only the current hotel but also the anticipated expansions at 2 Bailgate, Castle Hill, and the Judges Lodgings.
Businessman Andrew Long, who recently acquired the hotel and the adjacent Judges Lodgings, has propelled these developments.
The initial focus is on transforming the Judges Lodgings and 2 Bailgate into additional hotel accommodations. This includes utilising the space above the visitor information centre at Castle Hill for hotel rooms and establishing a retail arcade on the ground floor, reported TheBusinessDesk.com.
The Judges Lodgings is also set to host a café and restaurant, complete with kitchen and toilet facilities, as well as a new structure for retail or commercial use, and increased parking.
Furthermore, the 1950s extension at the rear of the Judges Lodgings will be demolished to create space for a new extension and the undercroft at 2 Bailgate will be redeveloped into a Georgian arcade-style shopfront.
