Woodlands Development Group has inaugurated the Tygart Hotel in Elkins, West Virginia, US, looking to make it a premier destination for both business and leisure travellers.
Managed by Taylor Hospitality, the hotel is in the heart of the Downtown Elkins Historic District.
The property is housed within a remodelled 1906 building and offers 56 rooms that range from single king and queen rooms to expansive king suites.
It is part of the Ascend Boutique Hotel Collection by Choice Hotels.
Taylor Hospitality CEO Sean Taylor said: “Our goal is to deliver hospitality. We are extremely proud of the team we have selected at the Tygart Hotel. Working with the Woodlands Group has been an honour.
“Bringing this historic West Virginia gem back to life has been years in the making and we are so proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. We are now at the point of delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and know that the Tygart Hotel will be a centrepiece of the Elkins community.”
The Oxley House Restaurant and cocktail bar is set to welcome hotel guests next month.
Oxley House's executive chef Anthony Eads is developing a menu that will blend innovation with tradition, focusing on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Taylor Hospitality has been instrumental in the pre-opening development and will continue to manage the daily operations of both the hotel and restaurant.
Tygart Hotel's design reflects the region's heritage, with guest rooms and public spaces adorned with artwork from West Virginia artists.
The hotel also features a conference room named after Louise McNeill, a notable West Virginia poet laureate, which can accommodate up to 60 people for events or meetings.
Last April, Taylor Hospitality assumed professional management of two South Branch Inn hotels in Moorefield and Romney, West Virginia.
