Wyndham Alltra is set to make its debut in the Dominican Republic with the opening of new oceanfront resort on the Samaná Peninsula.
Located in the northeast corner of the peninsula, Wyndham Alltra Samaná is situated near beaches and the Cordillera Samaná mountain range.
The 404-room resort, which will be managed by Playa Hotels & Resorts, has already started taking reservations.
It is currently undergoing an extensive renovation programme covering all rooms and public spaces. The resort is anticipated to open on 1 December 2023.
Playa Hotels & Resorts Dominican Republic operations vice-president Roberto Garrido said: “The Dominican Republic, and in particular Samaná, is one of the Caribbean’s most serene and relaxing escapes, allowing guests to immerse themselves in a tropical oasis while disconnecting from the everyday.
“Whether it’s unwinding with a new book under a picturesque palm or reconnecting with family as you embark on a new outdoor adventure, Wyndham Alltra Samaná pairs the best of the Dominican with the ease of all-inclusive travel.”
The new resort offers a range of rooms from standard king and queen configurations to large family suites and bungalows.
The resort, which is minutes away from natural preserves, waterfalls and remote islands, also comprises special venues on the beach and poolside for larger events, including weddings. Technical and on-site coordinators are available on the venues, according to Wyndham.
With nearly a dozen bars and restaurants for dining and refreshments, the resort gives guests access to private beachfront and four swimming pools.
Wyndham Alltra currently owns four resorts across Mexico.
In May this year, a Wall Street Journal report said that Choice Hotels International was looking to takeover Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
