IHG South East Asia and Korea development vice-president Serena Lim said: “Kimpton continues to strengthen its positioning in Thailand with Kimpton Khao Yai.
“We have seen a lot of interest for the brand since we opened Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in the middle of the pandemic to much fanfare, becoming a much-loved and popular destination for Bangkok residents and their pets.
“The signing of Kimpton Koh Samui swiftly followed and now the third Kimpton has been signed in Thailand.”
Kimpton Khao Yai will be part of Nusasiri PCL’s residential development Nusa MyOzone Project.
The 600-acre integrated resort will feature 18-hole golf course, retail space and other recreational amenities including, hotels and residences, private airport, and others.
Lim added: “We feel privileged and excited to work with Nusasiri Public Company for our first project together in beautiful Khao Yai. They are a highly experienced property developer in Thailand, and we appreciate the trust that they have placed in IHG as the resilience of our brands and power of IHG systems and enterprise come to the fore in the current environment.”
In April this year, IHG revealed plans to open the second Kimpton hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand later this year.
