Queens Moat Houses, a leading European hotel group with 57 hotels across the UK, the Netherlands and Germany, and Swisscom Hospitality Services have renewed their long-standing partnership. Swisscom will continue to provide wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, conference and business centre services at all QMH locations for the coming three years. Swisscom will manage all guest-facing data networks for the hotel group under defined SLAs.
The Queens Moat House group currently operates 18 hotels in the UK and 20 hotels in Germany, many of them under the Holiday Inn and Best Western brands, as well as 19 Bilderberg hotels in the Netherlands. With its diverse portfolio of hotels in city centres, close to airports and in the countryside, the group caters to a variety of customer segments mainly in the 4-star market. Several of QMH’s hotels are prime conference locations, attracting major corporate and association clients. All 57 hotels combined account for approximately 8,500 guest rooms.
The new partnership agreement puts Swisscom Hospitality in a central position to monitor, manage and maintain Queens Moat Houses’ high-speed data networks. Henceforth, Swisscom will act as single point of contact for all network-related issues, be it in the guest room, the meeting room or the hotel’s public area. This allows Queens Moat Houses to benefit from Swisscom’s flexible bandwidth management, whereby data capacity is assigned when and where it is most needed.
"High speed internet access – HSIA – is an essential pillar in our service offering today. For that pillar we need a solid partner," says Erwin Rieck, chief executive officer for Queens Moat Houses. "Swisscom has proven to be most reliable and pro-active. Since 2003, when we started working with Swisscom, they have continuously invested in our hotel broadband networks and given us competent commercial and technical support through their local teams in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands."
He adds: "Looking forward, we want to continue to count on Swisscom’s foresight and IT expertise. I am especially happy that we have found a solution that gives us complete flexibility in terms of product offering and pricing, which allows us to offer a consistently high service quality in all our locations, regardless of the individual brand and the actual pricing policy in place."
"I am very pleased to see that our value proposition fits so well with Queens Moat Houses’ expectations, today as much as over the past nine years," says Leo Brand, CEO of Swisscom Hospitality Services. "Swisscom managed network services (MNS) are a logical extension to our HSIA product offering. At a time where the demand for bandwidth doubles every six to nine months, hoteliers are constantly challenged to adapt and to upgrade their networks. Our MNS take the burden off the hotelier’s shoulders and result in a much more reliable service delivery to the guest. We look forward to setting a new HSIA service standard in all Queens Moat Houses."
