InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with K. W. Group for the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands to be opened at Phuket’s Kata Beach in Thailand.

Anticipated to open in 2022, the two hotels will serve as new addition to The Beach Plaza Phuket mixed-use development located just five minutes from the sea.

The 134-room Holiday Inn Phuket Kata Beach will offer a plethora of dining options, meeting facilities and recreational facilities including swimming pool and gym.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phuket Kata Beach will have 135 rooms and feature the brand’s signature Great Room.

IHG South East Asia & Korea development vice-president Serena Lim said: “It’s fantastic to continue the expansion of our Holiday Inn brand family in Thailand with the addition of these two new properties, and especially to partner with K W Group who have decades of hospitality experience in Phuket.

“We remain on track to double the size of our mainstream estate across the Kingdom in the next three to five years and the combined strength of this partnership will ensure we deliver on our brands’ promise and delight guests when the two hotels open in 2022.”

While Holiday Inn hotels are aimed at guests looking  for business or leisure options, Holiday Inn Express is go to option for travellers looking for a simple, engaging place to rest and recharge.

So far, IHG has 19 hotels in the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brand family in Thailand, and 16 more are in the development stage set to open for public in the next three to five years.
